Sick and Tired

On Monday, Owen woke up from his nap crying. Really crying, which he normally doesn't do. I go in there and he's crying so hard he starts to cough and then throws up, just a little! I think that it's just because he was crying so hard. We get some water and snuggle on the couch. He feels a little warm, but not really feverish.

Our babysitter, Neddy is due to arrive any minute. I give her the run down and ask her to call me if he gets worse or really throws up. When I leave he's running around, playing with her. I get my knucks and kisses and he says "I will see you when you get back." I feel ok leaving.

Well, not an hour later Neddy calls saying he only wants to be held and feels really hot. I head home. As soon as I walk in the door, I can see he's sick. He's pale and laying on the couch as she reads to him. I pick him up and not 10 seconds later he vomits, A LOT! Poor little guy. I thank and pay Neddy. She's such a sweetheart that she insists on mopping up the mess and sets out a new outfit for Owen.

We take some medicine, get in the shower and spend the rest of the afternoon snuggled on the couch watching Blues Clues and Dora.

Tuesday, he has a fever but no vomiting. Wednesday lots of vomiting and still a fever. Today, no vomiting but still a fever. Luckily I still feel OK! I've been drinking water and taking my vitamins, hoping that'll keep it far away from me and baby brother!

Now, I don't have a weak stomach. As long as it's not mine, blood and bodily fluids don't really bother me. However, I prefer NOT be thrown up on multiple times a day and with Owen, he doesn't really give you the option! When he's about to get sick, he wants you to hold your hand tightly over his mouth, which results in a complete spray of puke! All over both of us! It's disgusting. I try to get him to the sink or the bathroom in time, really anywhere off the couch or rugs, but it still covers us both. So needless to say, we had multiple showers and wardrobe changes on Wednesday. Such is the life of a mommy!
