Owen and Tahoe
Owen and I were playing play-doh the other day when we heard the cats meowing at the door. He jumps up and says:
"You hear that mom-mom? A kitty-cat outside! Come on!"
He then opens the door and heads out!
This is what happened next:
I love this video. Clearly Tahoe was not impressed with Owen's singing.

5 Weeks and 2 Days
With Owen, I had a great pregnancy, I was active, rarely nauseous and never uncomfortable. Keep your fingers crossed that this one's the same!
I know I didn't want another baby (that's what you're all thinking right?). Matt and I went back and forth for awhile. I love the idea of only one and what kind opportunities that could bring for Owen. One's easier. I like easy. I like comfortable. Babies are hard. They don't sleep. I like to sleep, everyone's happier if I sleep.
Yet alas, 5 weeks and 2 days is how pregnant I am. And I'm excited. I want Owen to have a brother or a sister. I want to have two little people that look like us! I want a bigger-little family. I love what Matt and I have together and adding to that love is amazing. I love Matt more and more each day. I love Owen more and more each day. I'll love this little one, more and more each day! Once it starts to sleep!

Videos of Owen & Cash
I didn't realize I had these videos of Owen and Cash playing still on my camera. The first video was over a minute long, but I figured you'd get the picture in 15 seconds worth. They ran around in a circle. Over and over again. And thought it was great fun. If only we all could be so easily amused.
They also spent a strange amount of time in Owen's crib. Jumping, wrestling and talking. It was actually great, they were contained and happy as could be. Cash should really move in.

Cash has corn in his ears!
They really did play so nicely together. At bedtime one night Owen said "I'm having the best fun with Cash!" How freakin' cute is that? Owen of course was the first one up every morning and the first thing he'd say is "I play with Cash?"
They loved playing/wrestling in Owen's crib. They chased each other around the house. They ate together, took baths and just overall had a great time. Grandma was cleaning Cash's ears and jokingly said "do you have corn in your ears?" A week later Owen was playing with something and was pretending to clean out his ears and said "Cash has corn in his ears!"
Thanks Grandma Claudia for bringing him and Auntie Robin for letting him come!

Mommy Rage
The highlight of the day however, was not the fun water room or bubble extravaganza or the precious little farmers market or ball blowing machines it was the crazy lady at the fire engine that I nearly had to knock out!
Here's the story:
There is a set of stairs that leads up to the fire engine, has a platform to to get into the cab of the fire engine and then goes down the other side. There was a woman up there with her two kids (probably 5 and 8 years old). She was blocking the platform so that no one else could get into the cab. Owen climbs up, I am right behind him. He's tiny and can squeeze past the woman. I am not as tiny and say "Excuse me, I need to get past so my son doesn't fall down the stairs." The woman does not move and literally just stares at me as if she's a mute.
Owen then proceeds to nearly tumble down the stairs. I push past her to grab him. He's fine, crying but not hurt and stops crying before we're at the bottom of the stairs. I shoot the woman a dirty look and tell Owen it's too crowded up there right now and we head off to something else.
Now if you pause here in the story, I'm already annoyed with the lady because A) I certainly would have moved to let other's in, B) if a two year old were going to fall down stairs, I would without a doubt in my mind, lunge to catch him and/or help, and C) if I had not done A or B, I would have said "Oh my gosh, is he ok? I'm so sorry!" But whatever, there is plenty to do in this place and so we move on.
About 5 minutes later, the woman comes up to me and says, "You should watch your kid better."
This is were I turn blind with rage! I can feel my blood boil and I cannot think straight. This is the rest of the conversation:
Me: I had to push past you to get to him.
Her: I didn't push anyone.
Me: Please don't talk to me.
Her: I don't waste my time with people like you.
Me: Then stop talking to me!
And I walk away.
I realize that I didn't have any witty comebacks or even made any good sense, but I'm telling you I was about to explode. I honestly, was insane with rage and could only walk away. I cannot remember ever being so pissed.
Oh well, the only thing that makes me feel better is that we were leaving and had a wonderful morning. She had just arrived and I hope her day was ruined!

Owen & Jacob's Birthday Party

Mexico
I get so nervous about the plane ride, you're so trapped and if a tantrum ensues there is little room or escape from it. But Owen did great, both coming and going. By far the best investment was the DVD player, that would buy us 30 minutes at a time and on a 4 hour plus flight, 30 minutes is a huge blessing. He also loved his aquadoodle and his Little Einstein figurines. We had great neighbors on all the flights and the biggest plus was they were jam-packed with families! So someone was always crying and it wasn't ever ours! WooHoo
We stayed at the beautiful Grand Mayan Resort. I really love that we can find such great deals on such fabulous places. We had a full kitchen, two rooms and our own mini pool on the balcony. It was FANTASTIC.
Owen got to celebrat his birthday (again) too!
We met Bryan, Elisabeth, Lucas and Coco there as well and Owen really loved playing with his cousins! I love watching Owen talk to other kids. It's so dang cute. He gets right up in their face and shakes his head a lot and ends each sentence with "OK?"! I love that kid.
Although vacations aren't what they used to be with the non-stop drinking, non-stop site seeing and trying to soak in as much as you can in as little time as possible. It's almost better. We actually relax! We visit. We play. We hang out. The one site-seeing trip to Tulum that we did attempt ended up being a hot, boring, long day that we, nor the kids enjoyed. The only redemption, popcicles!
I say we stay at the pool! Owen loves, I love it, Matt loves it! What's not to love? Food and drinks brought to you with the wave of your hand, cabanas for napping and of course, the pool for cooling off! It's pure bliss.
