Magic Moutain Playground

There's a relatively new playground in San Mateo called Magic Mountain! Man is it ever! It has the biggest slide I've ever seen. It looks like a castle and has big dragons coming out of the ground. It's a good time.

Look closely in this first picture. Owen is in it, climbing. Do you see him?
Coming down the big slide! He wanted to do it all by himself. But I had to climb up there, so I had to come down! He was so proud of himself. In the "castle" cooking pancakes, he loves to pretend to cook these days!

Stretching? Being silly?!
A little video of him coming down one of the smaller slides.
It would be more fun on a weekday, when the bigger kids are in school. It was pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon and we were getting run over by the big kids on that slide. There is a seperate toddler side, but who wants that when when you see the gigantic slide waiting for you right there. We'll have to take all our cousins next time they're in town! We could even BBQ!

Just a silly video of us playing!

This is just a quick, silly video of us playing. The silliest things make him laugh and he's got the the greatest laugh!

Hidden Villa Farm

Owen and I met our friends Cathy (mom) and Sheri (daughter) down at Hidden Villa. A working farm about 30 minutes away. It wasn't exactly what I expected, but really Owen just likes to go anywhere that he can roam and run!

There he goes:

Rock throwing is always fun:

Reading the community bulletin board:

And chickens:

That was it! We ran around, ate lunch and then headed home for nap!
Welcome to Owen's life!

Painting Day

We've decided to make the guest room into Owen's playroom! The toys ALL over the house have become too much! Especially the BIG ones: train table, easel, car garage, etc.
We had a guy come over to paint the room and Owen knew that he had to leave him alone. So he laid there quietly and watched him work.
Ever since Halloween, Owen calls all men he doesn't know "funny guys"! We started it so that he wouldn't be scared of costumes and skeletons and stuff, so we just said, "Those are just funny guys". Today, we worked hard on "Ron the Painter" is coming over and he still kept kept coming out "What's the funny guy, Ron the Painter doing?"
::SIGH::
I guess it could be worse!
We went with a basic tan called Thunder Bay, I like it.

Uh Oh

So we've been asking Owen if he wants a brother or sister and his answer is consistently "NO".

Yesterday we were looking through his picture books that made for Grandma and Nana and we saw his newborn pictures. We said that "that's baby Owen, that's you" and then asked "Should we have another little baby?"

He slammed the book shut, stood up and said "Stop talking about having a baby!" We were stunned into silence!

Uh Oh, we may have a problem on our hands!!

Owen Reading

Owen has memorized most of his books (and he has a LOT of books), so now he "reads" to us! This book, "I Love You, Sun! I love You, Moon!" is one of his favorites.

Professional Pictures

I thought I had posted these, but apparently not!

We had professional pictures done while in Mexico! I'm so glad we did. It's so hard to get a picture of the three of us and although this was no exception to that, we did get a few really cute ones. Owen is not a fan of the camera!

1st Appointment!

The little bean looked great! Measured a little big at 8 weeks, 3 days! My due date is October 17!

Another October birthday! I know, I know, there's too many already, but I really wanted to avoid the holidays and if I had to wait 3 months to start trying for our little #2, I would have chickened out, so October is the big winner!

I'll try to scan the ultrasound picture. It was amazing, we actually saw the embilical cord!

Now I have to decide on all the early tests. That freaks me out!

Good grief, he's actually listening!

Owen has a very short fuse when it comes to his toys. He'll carefully stack a block on top of truck and then speed it across the floor, only to have the block slip off. He'll SCREAM "stay on, stay on". This has been going on for months and months. Every time it happens I say, "sometimes things fall off, try again." He'll look at me and continue scream "stay on, stay on" and I help him fix it. We have done this several times a day, for months on end.

Today, the little Lego cat, fell off his little Lego fence and Owen started to tense up and I braced myself the scream, but before the first syllable left his mouth he stopped and said "sometimes things fall off, try again" and he put that kitty-cat back up on his little Lego fence.

I was so proud! It worked, my patience and broken record phrase worked. It took forever and a day, but we have experienced success.

Now I have to admit, when Mickey fell out of the rocket, 20 minutes later, he screamed "stay on, stay on" and I repeated our phrase and we put Mickey back in the rocket to continue his adventure. But hey, we had our moment, if it happened once, it can happen again!

Nagging Nausea

So I'm 7 weeks or so pregnant and I feel like crap. I actually don't mind it so much, because it's a little insurance that all is ok. But man....the mornings are rough, it takes a good hour before I can really get moving. I've gotten close, but no vomit yet, but my head has definitely been in the toilet, waiting. I know it won't last forever.

My first appointment is Monday, so I hope we hear the heartbeat and everything looks fine! ::crosses fingers::
