It seems that all of a sudden, Owen can say everything.
He can clearly say: please, up, in, no, yes, dog, swing, snack, drink, cup, juice, milk, truck, car, ball, light, close, wash, shoe, socks, sit, teeth, eyes, ears, book, read, mama, dada, Jack, and more.
He says a number of words that only I understand (the bigger words that he says when asked): eyebrows, dinosaur, giraffe, zebra, and avocado.
He knows lots of animal sounds and calls animals by the sounds: moo, neigh, meow, baa baa, the elephant sound, ribbit, quack and roar.
He's an amazing little guy.

What sort of person do I think Owen will be?
Look how much he's already changed. July 2007 and July 2008. But is he much different? Personality wise? Not really. He's still active, he's still funny, he's still curious.
He's smart and I hope he stays smart. Today I flipped a coin, one time, not even to entertain him or anything, I didn't even realize he was watching me. I was flipping a coin to make a choice on something, he was just in the room, playing. 5 hours later he found that coin and tried to flip it. Just like I did. I found that amazing!
He'll be a hell of a lot more social then his parents, that's for sure!
I love that he's intense and then his smile or laugh changes his entire face. He's serious and then all of a sudden he's hysterical.
With a little help from a friend
This video was taken March 19, 2008, almost exactly 4 months ago. The first time he climbed anything and it was with the help of his favorite friend, Jack.
It's absolutely amazing how much they learn so quickly. Today Owen can climb to the top of the table. All around the couch. In and out of boxes, baskets or shopping carts. He's non-stop action and truth be told, as a exhausting as it is, I wouldn't have it any other way.
So the nap thing!
We are transitioning to one nap and I think it's finally working. I'm going with the tried and true "5 hour" rule. He goes down 5 hours after he wakes up. This works for us! I like time frames vs. a schedule. He slept almost 12 hours last night! A first, EVER.
He's napping now! Cross your fingers for at least 2 hours.

Yes, I'm on the wagon
The blogging wagon, that is. Well the drinking wagon too, if it's actually swinging by.
It's not that I was against blogging, but it's just that I know how obsessed I can become and frankly I don't have the time. I don't know how some of these girls do it. They blog, bake, clean and are still in every playgroup.
It tells me that 1. my kid is way more active than most, b/c me sitting at a computer while he's awake just isn't an option and 2. my kid is way more active that most b/c I'm wiped out by the time he goes to bed and I need to go bed too and 3. I may never get my act together when it comes to this parenting thing.
I'm starting the blog b/c I want to remember things, that I know I won't if I don't write it down. It'll be more writing than pictures and I want it that way. I'm reading a great book about the growing toddler and it really made me want to write again, so here I am. Writing.
