We had a fantastic mini-vacation planned. We would drive down to my moms, go to Vegas for two nights (without the boys), two nights at Disneyland and two nights at the beach. We were so excited! Then Matt ended up not being able to take the time off.
I decided to go alone and do a very modified version. I left on a Friday night a 4:00pm. Drove until 5:30pm, when the boys normally eat dinner. Stopped. Ate. Played. Got back on the road at 6:15pm, Nathan's bedtime. He fell asleep soon after and slept the rest of the way. Owen watched movies, we sang songs and smelt cows on the I-5! He stayed up the whole time, but was just perfect! I did the same plan on trip home, but had to stop a few more times before Nate fell asleep. I also turned Owen's tv off at 9:00pm and he quickly fell asleep and both slept beautifully the rest of the drive! I was very proud of myself and my two little travelers!
I didn't take many pictures, because frankly I didn't see the kids much! Robin and I spent two glorious kid-free nights at stateline and then we went to Knotts Berry Farm, but I forgot my camera. The rest of the time they were playing with cousins, Yabo the dog, Joe and Grandma. They had very little use for me at all. Which was a well needed and much appreciated break.

We are looking forward to coming back and celebrating the October birthdays: Trent, Joe, Abbigal, Nathan, me & Cyndi! It's gonna be a par-tay!
