Monday:
Owen and I spent our morning at the DMV getting the new car registered. This was the only really non-fun thing on our agenda this week! I tried to make an appointment but the next available was 10/08 and you need to register your car within 10 days of the purchase and so we had to go in. It actually only took an hour and I had a bag o' fun packed that would last the whole morning, so I was relieved! Owen sat in his chair with his Thomas the Train Sticker book (THANKS, Angela & Jacob!) for about 30 minutes and played (opened and closed it, took the movie in and out, spun the movie round and round, never actually watched the movie) with the DVD player the rest of the time and then our number was up! This is where it got a little tricky. The counters are crazy high and go to MY shoulders, so I had to hold him and of course, he wants down. He starts putting my hair in my face and in my mouth and his hand down my shirt and really is doing anything he can to distract me from talking to the lady. Who was not to be distracted, she was all business and not amused by Owen's antics. But the task is completed and our car is insured and registered!! Pictures will come soon. I haven't even driven it yet, we're letting Matt enjoy it for a few weeks before we put both car seats in. We'll try to take a picture this weekend.
Tuesday:
Our Tuesday playgroup through us a little shower that was great fun! Although, I don't think it was intended, we got mostly books, which is fantastic, because Owen loves books and he says he can read them to baby brother! We also had delicious cupcakes from a local spot called Vanilla Moon, that had me on a complete sugar high for hours. Luckily, Owen was too busy playing to stop and eat one!
Owen reading one of his new books to Tyler:
Today was the busiest! Matt's work threw him "surprise" shower. However, it turned out not to be a surprise, he was suspicious of a meeting that he was invited to that everyone else had on as "a private event". Anyway, Owen and I were invited and Owen had a blast running around the room throwing a beach ball at everyone's food and drinks! WARNING: Don't give a 2.5 year old a ball and not expect him to throw it.
It was fun and very generous, baby brother will not go without!
They (read Matt) made us do a stupid pose to cut the cake!

Owen on the way home, thanks VISA:
After Owen's nap we had our Wednesday playgroup, who also threw us a shower! Again, more delicious food and Vanilla Moon cupcakes! Honestly, I've never had so much sugar in one week and again, Owen wasn't interested. He takes his playgroup obligation very seriously and insists on playing the entire time!
This one has everyone, but Owen is sneaking in the back about to hit Luke on the head with a phone (pretty much the same order, but move Owen to the back and put Sam in the front):
THEN when we thought all the fun was over, we opened the door to a HUGE box from my family. A SURPRISE SHOWER IN A BOX! Everyone put something in, my mom, Mema, my aunts/uncles, all my brothers and sisters! It really was the sweetest, most thoughtful, thing ever and we could not feel more spoiled!

It sure was a fun day!!!

We attempted to get all the kids together for a photo, but wrangling 7 toddlers isn't as easy as it sounds!
Almost there, missing Sam. From left to right (going up and down the slide): Owen, Sheri, Elin, Emma, Warner and Luke standing in front.

The baby's room is full and I need to get organizing!
The box o' fun!
Thursday:
I had my 36/37 week appointment. I had an ultrasound where the baby looked great, head down, in position, and is estimated to be 6lbs. My doctor has it set in her head that my due date is October 20th. This drives me nuts, because ALL my calculations and ALL the ultrasounds say October 13th and my tests have ALL been based on October 13th and yet the woman insisted on scheduling appointments through October and says I could go a full 42 weeks which is NOVEMBER 3RD! The woman has lost her mind and I still fully expect have this kid within the first two weeks of October. Yet, apparently I have very little say in the matter.
Also, our super good friends Angela and Mark (and of course Jacob) have an induction scheduled for next Wednesday, September 30th (original EDD of 10/06) so to think that I could go a full month past her, when I feel like we're due within a week of each other baffles my mind! I simply refuse to accept it!
I'm not really complaining. I've had a great pregnancy, blah, blah, blah.
Friday:
We're laying low.
