I did some searching and apparently people swear by this thing...so I headed out this morning to find it. It's basically a hard plastic tube with longer flexible tubing and mini foam filter that keeps you from actually ingesting the snot!
The good news is that it does work, quite well, and he was very curious at first and let me try it without a fuss. UNTIL he realized what it was doing and then I had to hold his head still. With the bulb aspirators, I normally have to completely pin him down, while he screams and cries. He tried to get away, but he didn't freak out, so it must be better, right?!The bad news? I have to suck that crap out of his nose!
