Mexico

We just got back from our winter vacation! This is the second year we went to Mexico with Owen and it gets better and better each time.

I get so nervous about the plane ride, you're so trapped and if a tantrum ensues there is little room or escape from it. But Owen did great, both coming and going. By far the best investment was the DVD player, that would buy us 30 minutes at a time and on a 4 hour plus flight, 30 minutes is a huge blessing. He also loved his aquadoodle and his Little Einstein figurines. We had great neighbors on all the flights and the biggest plus was they were jam-packed with families! So someone was always crying and it wasn't ever ours! WooHoo

We stayed at the beautiful Grand Mayan Resort. I really love that we can find such great deals on such fabulous places. We had a full kitchen, two rooms and our own mini pool on the balcony. It was FANTASTIC.

Owen got to celebrat his birthday (again) too!

We met Bryan, Elisabeth, Lucas and Coco there as well and Owen really loved playing with his cousins! I love watching Owen talk to other kids. It's so dang cute. He gets right up in their face and shakes his head a lot and ends each sentence with "OK?"! I love that kid.

Although vacations aren't what they used to be with the non-stop drinking, non-stop site seeing and trying to soak in as much as you can in as little time as possible. It's almost better. We actually relax! We visit. We play. We hang out. The one site-seeing trip to Tulum that we did attempt ended up being a hot, boring, long day that we, nor the kids enjoyed. The only redemption, popcicles!

I say we stay at the pool! Owen loves, I love it, Matt loves it! What's not to love? Food and drinks brought to you with the wave of your hand, cabanas for napping and of course, the pool for cooling off! It's pure bliss.

Anyway, we're looking forward to more fun vacations, so if you're planning one and want to invite us along...we're super fun and always game!
