Did you know I turned 40? I did.
And while overall the age doesn’t bother me, it still just feels weird. I’m 40. I have kids and a house and I drink coffee.
I don’t have any big TO DO things like “40 things to do while your 40”. I have no desire to jump out of an airplane or buy a ridiculously expensive car to mark this decade. I have however, vowed to get rid of things that annoy me and get more things that I love. For example, I took off and threw away a pair of annoying socks that slide down and gather under my arch. GONE. In the trash can at Owen’s school. Not a second longer will I put up crap like that! ![]()
Also in that category is to simplify and declutter. I don’t need 4 black bras when I only wear the one I like. (Too much info?) I actually wear more than one bra, not at a time, but you know I just need one black one. Well two a regular and a strapless….never mind, this is getting too involved. The point is to keep what I wear.
I’m also going to be more outgoing. Sort of. I just mean that if there’s someone I want to meet, I’ll make an effort. There’s this girl at the gym and I think we could be friends and I can usually tell right away with people. So I invited her for a playdate, she has 3 boys around Owen and Nathan’s age and damn it, I can be friendly. We’ll see how this goes.
As for more of the things that I love; more vacations, more date nights, more girl’s nights, more Vegas trips, more lip gloss, more sunglasses, more running, maybe some yoga, more time with these little people.
We celebrated a few times. In Tahoe
and here
We were too busy drinking to take more pictures that these, but trust me, it was fun.
I’m unbelievably lucky and I know that. So that’s what 40 is going to be about. Gratitude and fun and love.
Happy Birthday to me!
