I just opened this to see the last post was in NOVEMBER! I have the entire holiday season to post, plus Owen's birthday and a trip to Tahoe where the boys snowboarded!?!? We leave for Mexico next week, where we will undoubtedly take 650 more pictures. Holy crap!
I came on to list the things I love about the boys right now, because there are some random things that I really don't want to forget.
Like when Nathan lifts his little arms up when I'm about to put him in the car, you know, for armpit access. I find that completely precious! I mean, it's an automatic response, I start to lean toward him and up go the elbows. I can't explain my love for it, I just love it. And how he always, always has to take something with him when we walk Owen to school. This morning it was a guitar, sometimes it's paper and a crayon, often it's a ninja or a power ranger. But it is always something.
Owen is a master planner. A. Master. Planner. The kid plans out details to parties, museums, zoos amusement parks, adventures, all things he is planning to build or have or create. His brain does not stop. Walking home from school the other day he said he was going to start digging out our front yard for his underground water park. An underground water park!?! And he is serious and we talk for hours about these things. Hours! And I love it! He has some outstanding ideas! And his laugh. Oh my goodness, there is a post somewhere on this blog that states how hard it is to get a true and genuine laugh out of Owen and it is still true. But it is magic when it happens. Magic.
I feel like I'm hitting that stage where "little" is gone and I have two big boys and I'm going to lose these moments. How Owen still says "thank yoummmm" and how Nathan will talk to any stranger, any where and yell at me "mommy, I am talking to my friend" when try to get him to stop and just leave the poor old man alone. How just this month Owen will go poop by himself, without running through the house screaming "POOOOOOP!"first. I mean, who knew how much I'd miss that!?!?! And when Nathan needs to make a decision he does "eeny meeny miny mo" and then tailors it to what he really wants or says "mo, mo, mo" at the end, if he wants it all! It's fantastic.
Anyway, I will try to get some pictures up.
