Owen is on the AYSO Soccer team, the Cheetahs! His uniform is gigantic. He refuses to wear his shin pads under the socks or even covered by the socks. He likes the drills before the games and is coordinated.
He can dribble, steal, and boot the ball within funny game settings, like “stinky cheese” and “goose chase” but once the game starts, he’s bored. uninterested, DONE.
The pre-game meeting. Fine.
Running for the hell of it? Great.
Maybe he’ll at least learn a little team camaraderie?
You know what he is interested in? Climbing.
The higher the better.
And trees, show the kid a tree and he’ll scramble his way to the top.
Oh well. We’ll stick out the season.
